THIS POEM! I watched this poem back in high school, which was 3 years ago, and FELL IN LOVE. It's so creative and relatable. It speaks volumes to the lives of many of the people I grew up around. Every Father's Day I see my friends wish their mother's a happy holiday. It's so crazy the number of people I know that don't know what it's like to grow up with a father.

A father is the first man a woman loves. A father sets the standard for what a woman searches for in a mate. And I've learned that a man can be a good father but not a good husband. Money can't buy happiness, they say...and they're right. Comfort and company has no monetary value.

To my brothers out there than plan to be future fathers...learn from your fathers. Whether they were good or bad, there's always a lesson there. Be the man you would want your daughter to date. Especially my brothers of color...let's dispel these stereotypes the media perpetrates. YOU WILL BE GREAT FATHERS.

Goals

In regards to my last post, I didn't fulfill all my goals as I intended to, as expected. However, I did fulfill the only goal I listed. And that makes me very happy.

New Semester...New Goals

The new semester is almost starting and I'm kind of excited. The only reason I'm really excited is because I love new beginnings. Everything you didn't do the last time, you can attemp to do it this time around. I always have these goals in the beginning of the semester but as the school year progresses I lose track of what they were and essentially stop fulfilling them. So, this semester, I told myself I'd write them down so I don't forget. The goal is to fulfill the goal....strange sentence, but that's what it is.
